Picking Blackberries

Well its mid-August and we finally have a steady supply of ripe delicious blackberries. We have cut back and ripped out a large quantity of the berry bushes during our clean-up efforts.

The previous owners let them and every other living plant close to the house run amuck. We left one larger area close to the garden and another smaller blackberry patch by the garage. There are other patches in the wooded area that wont need attention but are in easy walking distance  for extra treats.
After spotting a doe helping herself to the harvest I figured I should go get some before the critters eat them all. A bit of time was spent picking and we ended up with a decent helping of blackberries for the weekend.
